How GMC Protect Reviews Google Merchant Center Accounts
This page explains how Terry and the team review Google Merchant Center stores. It does not claim access to Google’s private enforcement algorithms or internal reviewer systems.
GMC Protect is an independent Google Merchant Center compliance support service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of Google LLC or General Motors.
What monitoring means
Periodic and ticket-driven review of stores you add, the public website, and Merchant Center information you share. You should still read your own Merchant Center notifications.
Manual, automated, or combined
Reviews are combined. Some checks are systematic (whether URLs and policy pages resolve). Diagnosis of account-level issues is manual.
Review frequency
Cadence is confirmed during assessment because it depends on store count and risk. Open a ticket when Google shows a new warning.
Data sources
- Store records you submit
- The public website and policy pages
- Merchant Center screens you share or grant access to
- Google’s published Shopping ads policies
How findings are prioritised
- Account-level suspensions and Google tasks that block reviews
- Warnings that can escalate
- Product-level disapprovals
- Informational recommendations
What customers must do
- Implement website, policy and feed changes they control
- Complete Google identity verification
- Submit reviews in their own Merchant Center
Data access and security
Work may require Merchant Center access plus website or feed access. See the Privacy Policy. Private dashboards stay behind authentication.
What we cannot resolve
- Prohibited products or illegal activity
- A final Google denial
- Owner-only verification the customer will not complete
